Almost forgot. Ok I kept putting it off and then I almost forgot. Either way, with six minutes to spare, here it is
One day in and so far so good. The party was a smashing success. Thanks to everyone who attended. I spent the afternoon at a movie with my kids (Sherlock Holmes very good).
The haze has lifted, the over hang is…over, time to get on with it.
This is the view I awoke to this morning.
Today is my thirty-ninth Birthday. I must admit that’s a bit of a scary concept. I’m not going to wax nostalgic on you or have a “woe is me” moment. I just find it strange. I remember being Sixteen all full of Punk Rock Wrath and Angst and stealing the Battle Cry of the Who: “I Hope I Die Before I Get Old”. How fucking original.
Well, I guess I’m not old. I’m 39. Two years ago I was going to write a book based upon a picture a day. It was a simple enough concept. One picture a day for one year. 365 photos. It didn’t go well. I missed the first day and then I took 12 pictures and gave up. Today it seems fitting that I am going to attempt this again, this time in blog format. Think of it as a countdown to the big 4 oh.
I’m a freelancer, bartender and most importantly a parent. I have recently rediscovered my love for film photography mostly my Lomography. Those precious toy cameras that always give lovely unexpected results. I would love to use them as the daily pics but as they are film, I don’t think I could keep up with the developing. Instead, I will go to my good friend Photoshop and cheat.
With out further ado, it begins…
Happy Birthday to me,
Happy Birthday to me….
